Roman Tunic with Clavis

Tunic out of white wool fabric with Clavis (approximately 10 cm wide) made of wool fabric. You can choose the colour and width of the Clavis (the genteel classes used purple stripes - dyed red with purple dye murex). The Clavis are inserted in the fabric of the tunic. The tunic was the typical clothing of the Romans. The width of the Clavis was dependent on the class, Clavis with a width of 10 cm were used in the tunic of a senator.

The tunic will be made to measure and it will be made individual according to your wishes, therefore it is a custom-made item.

• Fabric: You can choose if we shall provide the fabric, or if you want to send us a fabric. For this tunic we will need about 2,5 m of fabric.

• Version: You can choose if the inseams of the tunic shall be sewn with the sewing machine and the visible seams with hand, or if the tunic shall be sewn entirely by hand.
