Thorsberg Cloak - germanic cloak

We based the cloak on the bog find from Thorsberg ('Prachtmantel I' acc. to Karl Schlabow). The size is 2,40 x 1,60 m (the original had 2,36 x 1,68 m). The cloak is edged with tablet woven braids all around (the braids are sewed on and not woven on as with the original, because we use a readily fabric). The cloak has striped braids with fringes on one of the longer and one of the shorter sides (the pattern matches the original, the braids are just a little narrower). On both of the other sides the cloak has narrow single-colored braids (like the original). In the corners the width braids are interlaced. The braids are out of a vegetable dyed wool woven with tablets.

The cloak can be adjusted to fit your size and it will be made individual according to your wishes, therefore it is a custom-made item.

• Fabric: You can choose if we shall provide the fabric, or if you want to send us a fabric. For this cloak we will need about 2,5 m of fabric.

• Yarn: You can choose if we shall provide the yarn, or if you want to send us a yarn. For this cloak we will need about 4 pieces of ball of yarn (1 piece with 100 g).
