Cotte (dress) high middle age after Codex Manesse

High middle aged cotte out of wool with two gores on the sides which end by the sleeves and with buttoned sleeves. The buttons are handmade out of the same fabric as the dress. The form equates to the euphemisticly form of the dresses in this age. The dress can be worn alone or with a Surcote. You can wear the dress with or without a belt. Dating 2nd half of 13th and 1st half od 14th century. We based the dress on the fashion of the dress from saint Elisabeth from Thüringen and the images from the Manesse and the Maciejowskibible.

The cotte will be made to measure and it will be made individual according to your wishes, therefore it is a custom-made item.

For the cotte you have here in the onlineshop different variants to choose from, which determine the price depending on material costs and working time.

• Fabric: You can choose if we shall provide the fabric, or if you want to send us a fabric. For this cotte we will need about 3,5 m of fabric (without lining).

• Version: You can choose if the inseams of the cotte shall be sewn with the sewing machine and the visible seams with hand, or if the cotte shall be sewn entirely by hand.

• Lining: You can choose if the cotte shall be lined with linen, wool or not at all.
